My obsession… On it’s way to the States and into my collection is this amazing Lancia Delta Integrale. I’ve always been crazy about these rally cars and their street versions from the 80s and 90s. With just 121 kilometers, I think this must be the lowest mileage and finest example of the first series 16v Delta HF Integrale in the world.

67 SWB-005.JPG

And just when you think you have enough Italian metal around, a little bit of alloy turns up. Say hello to this super-cool alloy-bodied SWB. It’s a genuine Ferrari 1967 330GT, which was paintstakingly crafted into a SWB Competition Berlinetta sometime in the early 2000s. Fresh from a thorough service, this one will delight anybody within eye or ear shot!

Another Japanese legend … another world record!

Our silver Nissan Fairlady Z432 smashing it’s high estimate and selling for $253,000.

We really do love cool cars and we love being at the forefront of the effort to bring the coolest Japanese cars to the world car collector market’s attention. It’s easy to sell something when you have a true passion for it, but it’s difficult to sell cars that you love. It was a bittersweet moment in Amelia Island as the hammer fell on our Z432 at $230,000. This is not just a fantastic example, but it’s a great great car. EASILY one of the top three cars that I’d owned and driven. Still, it was a very rewarding moment. I was sitting with my buddy (and fellow JDM enthusiast) Don Rose of RM Auctions and we were willing the car past the $220k which our Skyline GT-R achieved in Monterey. These amazing cars deserve their spot right next to Porsches and Ferraris and I hope that this sale continues their rise in the eyes of the world.

Special thanks to Marc Moreau for the pic. I was so wrapped up in what was happening, I forgot to get a picture as the hammer fell.

Fresh off the boat from Japan, not one but TWO SUPER COOL Mazda Cosmos having a bath. One L10B fully-restored and gorgeous, the other is a very rare Export Model 110S L10A in unrestored condition. I’ll have more pics and info in the coming days on these two. In the meantime, check out this concise and precise Cosmo website

SOLD!!! - Lamborghini Espada Series 3. Just 37,750 miles, serviced and sorted over the past few years by some of the best in the business, including a big job by Bobileff. DO NOT MISS THIS ONE! You won’t find a better Espada.

LATEST PROJECT - 1962 Citroen Sahara We’ve started work on our very cool and very rare Citroen Sahara. There aren’t many of these left and certainly very few that have such an original, rust free body. The Sahara is an unusual twin-engined car with a 2-cylinder engine driving the front wheels and a seperate 2-cylinder engine to drive the rear wheels. The engines can be run individually or together, making the Sahara FWD, RWD, or AWD!

Special delivery! Four amazing cars all at once. These are all available for sale (from upper left to bottom right): the super rare, super cool 1959 Scaglietti Corvette, a stunning 1962 Facel Vega Facel II, the Los Angeles Motor Show Ferrari factory restored and Classiche Certified 246GTS Dino and a Classiche Certified 250GT/L Lusso. From London to Tokyo to look at some very cool JDM cars and a few surprises. I bought two killer Mazda Cosmos and had the interesting experience to ride one of them on an elevator.

IMG 8811.JPG

On my last day in Tokyo, a wet weekday afternoon, I found my way across town and into Victory 50 to buy a few parts for my Skylines from the very gracious and helpful Mr Uchida. It’s a 2000GT-R JUNKY’S nirvana.

Just back from London and Salon Prive, one of my favorite events! A great mix of classics and supercars were on show. Click here for more pics.

We have some very exciting new cars on their way:

1962 Facel Vega Facel II

1964 Ferrari 250GT/L Lusso

1973 Ferrari Dino 246GTS

OUR THIRD WORLD RECORD FOR 2014… and the auction performance of this Skyline GT-R certainly meant the most to me of our auction cars this year. This was so long in the making and it’s so rewarding to establish one of the world’s greatest performance cars as one of the world’s greatest collector cars. Standing tall among the great GT’s of the 60s and 70s, the Skyline GT-R now has a significant place in the world market. She crossed the auction block looking great and the result is testament to Woody and Tim, who spent a lot of time on this beauty.

I love barn finds! There’s little that’s more exciting to me than strolling up to a real barn and finding a real car inside. My latest barn find is this incredible 19,000 mile 1974 Jaguar e-type Roadster. Dug out of the woods, not driven since 1987, this beauty started right up after putting in a new battery and tapping the fuel pump. Interested? +1 828 654 3222 or

FINALLY! After months of hard work and more months of waiting, I drove our Skyline 2000GT-R Hakosuka and the silver Fairlady Z432 (same one that I’d driven in Japan) through the mountains of North Carolina. Enjoy these pics… I know that i loved taking them!  1970 Fairlady Z432 PICS  and 1971 Skyline 2000GT-R PICS

Want more? WATCH THIS KILLER VIDEO and read Nissan’s story surrounding the birth of the Skyline. Careful though, it might just change your life! Call Ken if you want to join the JDM Revolution.

JDM CARS RULE! If you can drive Right-Hand Drive cars and you love cars from the late 60’s early 70’s, I encourage you to try out a Z432, Skyline GTR, Skyline GTX or 240ZG. The 2.0 liter cars in particular (Z432 and GTR) are just wonderful. Great blend of balance and "muscley" power in a lightweight Japanese car. I don’t think I will ever go without one of these great cars in my collection. Better to drive than an E-type, more grunt and muscle than a 911, I would compare these cars to Aston DB4’s through DB6’s and Maserati Ghibli’s in performance, but with a cool spartan interior and a sound like nothing else I’ve driven. We took the 1972 Nissan Skyline GTX and 1970 Nissan Skyline GTR out for some fun and pics the other day. Click the links above and enjoy!

Selling my Z! Sometimes i have to look around and have to decide to let cars go which I previously thought that I would keep forever. It’s time to let someone else enjoy my 73 240Z. This one is particularly hard to let go, becasue we found her (literally) in a barn and brought her back to life. She has such a great original interior paired with my twisted vision of some JDM/BRE racing hybrid. I’ll miss this one a lot, but I just have to whittle down my keepers. I couldn’t put a price on the Z, so I’m going to run a no reserve auction on eBay and let the world decide what she’s worth. SOLD - THANKS ASIF

Been on the road again and glad to be back home after a wonderful week in Monaco and Paris. RM’s Monaco auction was one of the best I’ve ever attended. The auction was great and the venue was out of this world. Click the picture on the right for a couple of pics of the pre-auction cocktail party and one taken during the auction. The room was packed, prices were strong and I bought the bargain of the sale, the 1950 Maserati A6 1500. Now I’m home for several weeks, so expect more cars to be listed for sale soon and the pics of cars listed below to be posted. If anything catches your eye, give me a call or email.

I’ve spent this week in Germany at the Essen Techno Classica - (probably my favorite car event of the year!) At the end of March every year, vintage car junkies from all over the world make their way to this event. Manufacturers, independent dealers and collectors display their cars for sale and for show. It’s a unique opportunity to see a large number of rare and beautiful cars all in one place.

THEY’RE HERE!!! After a very long wait, our JDM super cars have arrived this week. It’s near impossible to find these cars and get them out of Japan, but our cars were sought out, inspected and purchased in Japan by a close friend and JDM expert. Now we’ve suceeded in putting together one of the best JDM collections in the country. I only wanted the best of the best. This group includes:

  • an incredibly original and early Z432
  • a beautifully restored iconic orange Z432
  • a stunning 1970 Skyline GT-R 4-door
  • the HOLY GRAIL of JDM cars … a real-deal 1971 Skyline GT-R “Hakosuka” 2 dr
  • a killer 240ZG or "G-NOSE”
  • a super cool and JDM Master-restored 72 Skyline GT-X Coupe

Since Amelia Island... Been busy flying and buying! Here are some of the latest additions to the collection and to inventory: 67 Bizzarrini Strada 5300, 58 Lancia B20 Coupe, 64 BMW 3200 CS, 63 BMW R69S motorcycle, 67 Lamborghini 400GT, 66 Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint Coupe and two 73 Lamborghini Espadas.

The JDM cars have arrived from Japan and we’re expecting delivery any day now. PICS TO FOLLOW!

Bye Bye Beetle - Our stunning 55 VW Beetle Convertible sold at the RM auction at Amelia Island on Saturday for $82,500 (incl buyers premium). It was a bittersweet moment; we will miss that beautiful car being around, but knowing that it’s going to someone who’ll appreciate it's class and quality makes it easier to say goodbye.

DSC 0294.JPG

Just in… is this very rare 2013 Range Rover Evoque Special Edition. 1 of only 5 delivered to the US! This thing isn’t just cosmetically appealing, this thing is an animal! It has a "stealth-like appearance" with matte gray color scheme, glossy black roof and trim, with 20-inch wheels exclusive to this special edition. There also is an abundance of rose-gold accents, painted on the wheel and plated just about everywhere else, inside and out. Pics and info soon.

Do you love F40s? This one’s a beauty. I bought this car several years ago from a prominent collection and now it’s time for a new home. I’ve bought and sold several F40s and this is easily one of the very best that I’ve seen. It is in exquisite condition, just 3,000 miles and has obviously lived a pampered life. (SOLD!)

JUST BACK FROM TOKYO!!!! I’ve been in Japan buying more JDM cars and having the time of my life driving a Z432 on the quiet Sunday streets of Tokyo. That was A BLAST, right up there with the time that I drove our 959 on the Autobahn.

DSC 0273.JPG

In inventory, we have these two super-cool GTC/4’s, a 74 Pantera, a blue Miura S (due back from service soon), the gold Ghibli 4.9SS Coupe, two pre-war Mercedes Sedans, a turbo Porsche, Jag XK140 Coupe and more...

Home from New York and the RM Sotheby’s auction. The “Art of the Automobile” concept was a very cool one and the results show that we’re still in a strong market which continues to strengthen. Sitting in the garage and waiting for my return were our new Maserati Ghibli 4.9SS coupe and Red/Black 1971 Ferrari 365 GTC/4. Weather hasn’t permitted my usual pics, but here’s a taste of just how nice this Maserati is. The Ferrari is it’s equal, if not better, with pics coming ASAP. Here are some auction pics too.

IMG 0213-001.jpg

Certainly one of the best-driving early 70’s European Coupes and they look SO COOL! I’m looking forward to putting a few miles on this beauty. It’s going to be a tough call though, whether to jump into this or the Ferrari 365GTC/4, when I want to tour through the mountains.

You can call Ken for more info +1 828 654-3222

Waiting for me when I came back from my latest European adventure, (tracking down the best and most beautiful cars in the world, then trying to buy them), was this spectacular Enzo and stunning 1957 Mercedes 300SL Roadster. The Enzo is already SOLD!, the 300SL won’t be for sale.

35 170.jpg

Had a wonderful week in the UK, including a great time at Salon Prive (thanks Andrew and David, Peter and Mary), where our spectacular 1936 Mercedes Benz 540K Cabriolet A Sport took home 2nd in it's class.

I also enjoyed the splendor of St James' Palace for a Concours event with my son Matthew, and finally on to London, where I fell in love and bought two killer pre-war Mercedes to bring back to North Carolina.

Screen Shot 2013-09-11 at 2.18.34 PM.jpg

The red one is a rare 6-cyllinder 1935 170 Sedan that has a matching trailer and the black one is a 1939 170V Cabriolet. These cars will arrive soon and will be available for purchase. Both are EXCELLENT, completely restored cars in fine running condition.

Finished my trip with the best curry of my life at Tamarind in London W1 (thanks for that recommendation Ekaterina).

Back from a successful week at Pebble Beach and Monterey. We added four new cars to the permanent collection; a 72 Porsche 911S Targa, a Maserati Ghibli 4.9SS Coupe, an Aston Martin DB4 and an Aston Martin DBS. On my way home, I stopped in San Francisco and bought a stunning late-build 1970 Lamborghini Miura S with factory A/C and SV Spec ventilated brakes, which will be coming back to Asheville for sale.

I'm pretty excited about the Citroen 2CV that's on it's way. "WHAT, " (I hear you guys screaming) "is cool about a Citroen 2CV?" Well, it's no ordinary 2CV. It's a 2CV Sahara. Never heard of a Sahara? Well, check out this video and be AMAZED

Fresh from her visit to Gallaher Restorations, our 1959 Scaglietti-bodied Corvette, one of my favorite cars. Enjoy these pics

04Enzo Silver-007.JPG

I've just returned from a successful trip to Tokyo where I picked up this STUNNING ENZO for the permanent collection.

Easily the best-looking Enzo I've seen, in showroom condition, just 497 kilometers, Ferrari Classiche Certified and a drop dead Red interior.

I also had the opportunity to view several JDM car collections, (Too much fun! I think there's a teenage "tuner" hidden underneath this European Connoisseur's visage)
